Job Description

Jack Henry & Associates is looking for a dedicated, passionate, and driven Programmer to join our team! This Programmer Analyst will be a part of a small team of programmers that install and support our iAdapter product. iAdapter is an interface for 3rd party and JHA complimentary products that allows the various products to communicate with our core software products. It is essentially an information super highway that allows the 3rd party and complimentary products to pass data back and forth to our core products.

Our Programmer Analyst can work from our Springfield or Monett MO office.


  • 5 years of programming experience in any language


  • 3 years of programming experience with one or a combination of RPG III, RPG IV/ILE, RPG Free and CL.

  • Knowledge of DB2 database is a plus.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, FTP, and other networking protocols is a plus


  • Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.

  • Develops programming code for new and/or existing software enhancements.

  • Devises block diagrams, logic procedures and prepares flowcharting.

  • Utilizes SQL and Embedded SQL to diagnose and solve technical issues.

  • Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software.

  • Provides programming support for various interfaces.

  • Keeps customers informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes; may assist the customer in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process flow and business function.

  • Creates all programming documentation; may include defining the system and functional requirements of the product

  • May complete project bids and/or work effort estimates. Interacts with customers to gather system requirements.

  • Serves as project lead on complex projects.

  • Collaborates with other departments, customer IT personnel, and third party technology providers.

  • Tests code and fixes to ensure quality.

  • Mentors, trains, develops and provides support to less experienced co-workers.
