HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Division Director, Environmental Services Operations - EFL in Miramar, Florida

We are currently seeking a skilled Division Director, EVS Operations, under the direction of the VP of Support Services and working collaboratively with Environmental Services Directors in assigned facilities, the Division Director, EVS Operations is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the EVS service lines within East Florida Division, identifying cost savings and quality improvement opportunities, communicating opportunities to local leadership, and reporting outcomes.

Duties (included but not limited to): • Assists with Monthly, Quarterly and Annual strategic planning sessions with EVS Team to develop strategy and operating plans for EVS service lines • Assists Division Director with establishing annual cost savings targets for the Division with assigned responsibilities • Provide monthly KPIs reviews and quarterly balanced scorecard reports for Division facilities • Analyze current spend, contract compliance, and rebate percentages • Analyze Linen and Supply cost net of revenue per adjusted patient day (APD); Assure Linen Committees and Efficiency Programs are implemented across the Division. • Identify opportunities to standardize products and reduce expense, per system standard • With Division Director, conduct monthly conference calls and quarterly live meetings with EVS leadership to update Division Wide Initiatives, to include Patient Experience, share Best Practices, Network with Colleagues, and support collaborative division wide projects. • Work with facility Directors and EVS Managers to define and manage productivity standards, standardized policies and procedures, and promote Division Specific EVS Initiatives (D/C Cleaning, Linen Management, Product Standardization, etc.) • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory standards-JCAHO, AHCA, HRS, EEOC) as well as the handling of Hazardous Materials within all EVS areas. • Assists Facility Directors in the maintenance and monitoring of budget and acquisition of capital equipment. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in managing productivity standards. Continuously evaluates and assesses work process/design to enhance productivity and service delivery to meet stakeholder expectations and business goals. Works collaboratively with facility directors to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Optimizes use of supplies, equipment and services, ensuring a high level of patient care at the lowest cost. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising quality or the services delivered. • Works with Facility Directors to ensure competency and development of staff through education and training. Assists in developing competencies, orientation, training, and in-service programs for EVS Staff as needed. • Supports hospital and division initiatives in meeting core measures, patient safety and service excellence goals. Ensures provision of quality care and services by maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies. Fosters effective departmental communication and collaboration with Facility Leadership • Supports division wide patient experience initiatives-promotes customer service as a value; makes sure customer solutions, practices, and procedures are carried out to achieve positive outcomes. • Maintains high visibility within all facilities, to include documented monthly schedule, communicated to all EVS Directors and Facility C-Suites. • Facilitate peer review audits in each hospital at least annually

EDUCATION • Associates Degree Facilities Management or related field required. • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE • At least 5 years’ experience as a Environmental Services Director in a Hospital required. • Prior Experience in managing multiple EVS Operations preferred. • Previous experience in HCA preferred.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE • Certification in Handling of Hazardous Materials (HazMat) preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate reports. Requires lifting laptop computer, paperwork and reference materials. May be exposed to toxic/caustic/chemicals/detergents. Work is performed in an office and within or near a healthcare facility environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
