We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Product Manager to join our rapidly growing business and take the lead in developing a strategy to unlock new markets and applications, driving sustainable world-wide consumables growth.

Position Summary The Product Manager for XF Consumables will be responsible for managing the life cycle of assay consumables and kits, associated product line extensions and new product introductions. The incumbent will need to become immersed and understand rapidly evolving customer and market needs, distilling the voice of customer and market into actionable tactical and strategic initiatives. The incumbent will champion new product development projects, liaising with a cross-functional and diverse teams to bring new solutions to market that expands the capabilities of XF Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the expectations, needs, and wants of XF customers for consumables required to conduct metabolic assays with the XF platform, including the relative importance of features and benefits, competitive alternatives, and ways to increase customer satisfaction

  • Develop value-based product positioning, pricing, and support programs to drive sales in all regions

  • Monitor and analyze sales data, reporting on trends, performance to plan and forecasting

  • Develop and own the consumables portfolio road-map, contributing to product development teams and successfully launching new products.

  • Provide sales, customer support, and distributors the information, support, documentation, and expertise necessary to sell & support XF consumables

  • Visit customers and potential customers to maintain up-to-date VOC, monitoring and benchmarking XF Technology against competitive offering

  • Monitor customer questions, complaints, and enhancement requests

  • Partner with manufacturing, applications teams and engineering teams to propose new product development and continual improvement projects supported by VOC research and market data.

  • Develop and oversee production of technical, instructional and marketing documentation for consumables

  • Represent company at meetings, conferences, and trade shows

  • BA or BS in a life science; Master’s, MBA or Ph.D. is a plus

  • Minimum of 3 years in marketing in Life Science or comparable direct customer interactions; sales experience a plus

  • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience

  • Solid knowledge of cell-based assays and cell analysis; ability to understand and discuss cell-based research. Experience supporting a consumables line in the cell based instrumentation space a plus.

  • A proven track record of developing and implementing successful business growth strategies and delivering against defined deadlines

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a cross functional matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated experience developing a portfolio road map/ strategy and launching new products. Experience with introducing new, enabling technologies a plus

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand and comply with defined business processes

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision on complex projects, lead cross-functional teams, build consensus across diverse groups and secure formal and informal buy-in from all teams.

  • Customer-oriented perspective; must relish communicating with customers and field staff

  • A thorough understanding of customer workflows and buying processes across different segments including academic research, drug discovery and biopharma.
