Starting pay is based on experience, with a minimum starting rate of $16.67 per hour.
Under general supervision, the Student Status Examiner Senior functions as the Undergraduate and Graduate Program Coordinator for the Department of Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences, and the primary resource for the schedule of classes preparation and web-based registration. Responsible for administration and implementation of undergraduate and graduate program activities, policies and procedures from admission to graduation. Advise faculty and students on undergraduate and graduate program requirements and systems. Implement rules and regulations of the Department, UW and the Graduate School in consultation with the Undergraduate and Graduate Chairs. Evaluate transcripts, determine eligibility of international students, and students with non-standard applications; monitor progress of all PhD candidates. Provide support to the instructional programs of the Department. Manage and maintain the total process of automated registration activities and produce the schedule of classes for each semester. This position requires considerable initiative, independent judgement and discretion in order to communicate University requirements and procedures to current and prospective students. Strong computer skills as well as a working knowledge of ISIS, DARS, spreadsheets, databases, word processing and the Internet are required.
