This role is responsible for the management and execution of the bank’s commercial receivables products. This will including development, enhancing and commercializing the product suite to increase top line revenue and contribute to net margin of the Transaction banking business.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the strategic goals of the Receivable product set that includes both the receipt customer payments and cash receipts. Product set to include, but not limited to, Lockbox services (including specialty markets), Remote Deposit Capture, Merchant Services and Cash Services.

  • Evolve the receivables products to respond to changing industry and customer needs.

  • Develop receivable investment strategy and associated business case(s).

  • Oversee and direct the development of new services and products based on the business objectives while managing all required risk & regulatory changes.

  • Analyze and evaluate new concepts, determine feasibility and market potential.

  • Recommend new strategies to enhance and improve MUFG Union Bank’s competitive position.

  • Advise management of potential new product capabilities through preparation of strategy presentations which define markets, product design, profitability, alternative systems, operating expenditures and capitalization.

  • Maintain awareness and present to management through presentation of proposals which analyze customer need, pricing/cost and internal/external technology and procedures needed to effect change.

  • Coordinate the development and enhancement of the product set between project managers, product managers inclusive of on- line digital needs for customers and internal operating organizations.

  • Review, approve and manage requests from line management to modify and/or change the design of existing products while managing product risk.

  • Determine cost effectiveness and compliance with auditing procedures and legal requirements.

  • Leverage solutions across multiple markets to improve time to market, create a consistent customer experience and manage delivery cost.

  • Identify and innovate recommended solutions and capabilities that enhance our ability to attract and retain customers utilizing the web, file transmission or direct integration to transact and receive data.

  • Educate and manage fraud process to prevent and limit transaction losses.

  • Typically requires B.A. or B.S. or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.

  • 7-12 years of technical experience and management experience with the wholesale banking market.

  • Experience defining and managing new products, services and enhancements both payable and receivable products.

  • Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills and matrix management skills.

  • Strong strategic and project planning with an execution track record.

  • Financial Services preferred, but not required.

  • Actively ensure compliance with all rules and regulations including Patriot Act, CIP requirements, and other applicable regulatory and compliance policies and procedures.
