The Lead Software Engineer will work closely with the Subject Matter Experts, Business Systems Analyst, Solution Architects and Developers in building and supporting Hyperion Planning and Essbase Platform. The candidate will lead efforts and consults with technology team members to offer solutions using best software and engineering practices. The candidate will facilitates implementation of best practices that improve system effectiveness and allow future growth
The ideal candidate should have extensive technical expertise on Hyperion Planning and Essbase, with multiple Hyperion Planning and Essbase implementations, and implemented or supported Hyperion Planning at a financial services company.
The candidate should be able to successfully lead a team of resources in support of both a project and production environment. The candidate should have the demonstrated ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment, taking initiative and proactively improving processes. The candidate is expected to demonstrate strong verbal and analytical skills in order to take a lead role in supporting this function from a technology perspective.
/ Major Responsibilities: /
Lead or support development team on Hyperion Planning applications, Plan types, Web Forms, Task Lists, MaxL scripts, Calc Scripts, Business Rules, Loading dimensions and data, Security configuration.
Performs system design and analysis, develops complex code and testing to ensure successful delivery of system functionality and application components
Manage technology project delivery; addressing risks and issues through effective contingency plans and proper escalation.
Provide technical expertise on overall architecture and strategy of the Hyperion Planning and Essbase environment.
Produce technical documentation in accordance with SDLC guidelines
Participate in and help lead change management activities associated with the automation of Finance processes and systems.
Partner with management, project champions, and process owners to align process improvement initiatives with business objectives.
/ Additional Responsibilities: /
Review analysis and design done by systems personnel, provide guidance and solution direction.
Interact with users, BSA’s and project teams to resolve system issues and maintain a stable production environment
Reviews, advises and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
Develops programming standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse.
Recommends system improvements, new applications and develops plans to improve service
Prepares project schedules and budget estimates
Bachelor's degree, preferably in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related IT discipline
Extensive experience with Hyperion Planning and Essbase
8 years relevant consulting and/or industry experience on Hyperion Planning and Essbase
Implementation experience on at least 3 Hyperion Planning projects or in an application support role for at least 5 years. Experience with following products is preferred: Hyperion Planning version 220.127.116.11 or above
Prior experience on designing and developing ASO and BSO Essbase applications would be an added advantage
Good data modeling skills on multi-dimensional databases and DW/BI solutions
Accounting and Finance industry background preferred
Must be a team player with good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
Should be able to work with off-shore vendors and resources spread out globally.
Ability to communicate and work directly with business leaders across ISA and Finance
Must be detail oriented and possess ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must possess organizational, problem-solving skills and time management skills and be able to meet deadlines.
