This position is located at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (TMMK) in Georgetown, KY. TMMK is part of Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA). Established in 1986, TMMK is Toyota's largest North America manufacturing operation. The facility produces over 500,000 vehicles annually. Production includes assembly of the Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Venza, and the Lexus ES350. TMMK also builds 4-cylinder / V6 engines, and powertrain parts.
Powertrain Skilled Group Leader TMMK has an off shift opening for a Skilled Maintenance Group Leader (supervisor) in the Powertrain Department. The Group Leader must be able to supervise team members in a fast paced production environment.
Responsibilities: • Monitor manufacturing operations to support efforts to achieve high efficiency. • Track and report maintenance key performance indicators. • Provide problem solving analysis and countermeasures for various types of equipment. • Initiate and lead cost reduction and improvement activities for various types of equipment and manufacturing processes. • Work and coordinate planning, countermeasures and setting directions with Management, Production Engineers and Technical Specialists. • Develop an area improvement plan based on Hoshin, and follow up to ensure progress. • Focus on development of Team Members / Team Leaders. Requirements: • Technical degree or, equivalent experience and actual job performance at a comparable level of duty and responsibility. • 5 years of supervisory, or management experience in an industrial maintenance setting. • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills with a keen ability to resolve conflict when necessary. • Provide positive leadership in all situations. • Excellent problem solving skills. • Able to analyze mechanical and electrical systems. • Able to develop short and long term plans. • Able to communicate and coordinate with various levels of management. • Able to manage daily work to achieve maximum return for Toyota. • Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Maximo, PeopleSoft and Outlook is desired.
