We are looking for a Accountant to join our teamSummary -Establishes monitors and reviews Escrow accounts. Analyzes quality and quantity of project costs and prepares payment request accordingly. Reviews individual requests and assesses the risk of payment. Establishes fees and set-up cost.A typical day will include the following:Assists with gathering and analyzing account information, applies appropriate techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of payment.Provides account reports to underwriting as needed, regarding the projects financial status in order to help underwriting determine credit quality.Participates in marketing activities within the region to promote the development of new business.Prepares and participates in proposals to underwriters and agents on accounts negotiating terms and conditions.Participates in the collection of the Funds Control fee.Establishes Escrow fees with underwriters and agents and prepares Escrow and Funds Control Agreements for underwriters and agents.Establishes the Escrow account set up with the Bank of America and ensures accounts are managed in Image Right by maintaining and updating Funds Control files.Administers the appropriate start up documents to underwriting and agents.Monitors and reviews project job costs and analyzes the submitted payment application requests to determine the quality and accuracy of request and assesses the appropriate payment percentage to principal.


  • Strong knowledge of general bookkeeping

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Processing of Accounts Receivable (premium, commission)

  • Processing of Accounts Payable (to Insurance Companies; Brokers)

  • Online banking (including processing incoming ACH/Wire/Credit Card payments; outgoing ACH/Wire payments; interbank transfers)

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Working with Underwriting and support staff on invoicing issues

  • Knowledge of insurance a plus, but not required

  • Knowledge of AMS/Vertafore Agency Management System a plus, but not required
