SYSTEM ENGINEER South Central Indiana REMC We are searching for a self-motivated, goal-oriented, hands-on person to fill this unique, technical position at the largest rural distribution cooperative in Indiana which serves members in seven counties. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented, analytical, problem-solver who will balance working independently on engineering projects and providing work direction to staking engineers/technicians. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Engineering and Operations Technology. The major responsibilities include: coordinating the engineering functions within the Distribution Services Department; directing the staking technician team; providing input and coordination to the consultants of SCI REMC on methods of system design, construction, maintenance and operation; developing member support, understanding and acceptance of Distribution Services Department activities as they pertain to the membership. Interested individuals who meet or exceed the qualifications listed below can apply through the SCI REMC website EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required. . Minimum of one year experience related to development and implementation of an electric utility systems engineering plans and programs, with demonstrated ability to lead a team. Three to five years of experience is preferred. Experience with a rural electric distribution system is preferred. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: A. Must be capable of directing the work of the staking engineers B. Must provide engineering advice on methods of electrical system design, construction, maintenance, and operations to various levels of employees or members. C. Must develop plans and schedules for electric distribution system improvement requirements. D. Must direct corrections to voltage, power factor, and load factor problems. E. Must perform regular reviews and analyses to determine methods for improving safety, productivity, and continuity of electrical service. F. Must prepare contracts for line construction, maintenance, and system improvements, assist in supervising those contractors. G. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, members, and others. H. Must be available to assist in dispatch during emergencies. PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: A. Must be able to work effectively on a daily basis with a variety of individuals. B. Must be able to tolerate stress and to remain calm and efficient and courteous under pressure.
