The Woman’s Hospital of Texas is currently looking for aNeonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)at our Lufkin, Texas location. Responsibilities: * Under the supervision of the Maternal and Neonatal Transport Team Director and Medical Director, is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and, when applicable, appropriately delegates tasks to provide optimum patient care. * Accountable for the assessment and development of the medical plan of care for high-risk neonates in collaboration with the attending physicians. * Participates in the development of guidelines for neonatal care and serves as a resource for the neonatal staff members and patient’s family. * Participates in educational and outreach programs to continuously improve quality of neonatal team processes and services in order to maintain competence and professional growth * Evaluates and applies knowledge of age-related and socioeconomic factors in the assessment, care, treatment and education of neonatal patients and their families. * Identifies and assists with opportunities for performance improvement activities on the unit and with other service areas. * Accurately and completely documents all aspects of care given. * Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste and promoting cost effectiveness. To actively market services to increase volume and awareness. * Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and rights of the patient. * Interactions with patients and colleagues demonstrate compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and uniqueness of every individual, unrestricted by considerations of social or economic status or cultural beliefs. * Communicate effectively withthe multidisciplinary team.(physicians, nurses, business office, and medical records) to provide for continuity of patient care and to meet the needs of the customers we serve. * Behaviors and interactions demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative and motivation to achieve the goals of the unit. * To uphold the standards of the profession and organization and practice ethically and with integrity. * Other duties as assigned

  • MSN or completion of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program required
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas with concurrent approval to practice advanced practice nursing in the State of Texas required
  • BLS certified required
  • NCC Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification required
  • NRP certification required
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certified required
  • ACLS preferred
  • 2 years Level III neonatal nursing experience preferred
