Philips Healthcare Cleveland, Ohio is currently recruiting for Systems Engineer to join our Computed Tomography (CT) and Advanced Molecular Imaging (AMI) organization on The Field Action Team.
As the System Engineer for the Field Action Team you will be responsible feature-level technical leadership and contribute to technical realization of a product release/lifecycle management. The scope includes translation of user requirements, requirements management, technical approach, design specification and interfaces, feasibility of potential solutions, allocation of derived requirements and traceability, design reviews, integration coordination, technical liaison to the program, technical roadmap, defect management/root cause analysis and risk management
Technical leaders of a cross-functional team that will incorporate key customer needed improvements into product releases.
Risk management and assessment of product specification and design updates for the product releases.
Leading a cross-functional team in complaint / defect and change review assessments.
Preparing operational teams to be ready for incoming customer feedback on upcoming product releases.
Determine key customer feedback areas we will need to listen for in our post-market data for each new product version release.
Listening to customer feedback post release to assess for risk vs the risk profile we developed during product launch, assess if the severity and probability of the risks are valid based on customer feedback and guiding the investigation of issues / complaints that arise from customer feedback.
Guide the assessment of trends in the data we collect from voice of customer to ensure we distill this data into actionable information to inform Philips next development efforts
Actively participate with a cross functional teams who determine when product improvements are needed for our customers to complete the full cycle.
The System Engineer will act as overall lead technical resource for complex hardware and software systems by leading risk management and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams during product release efforts.
Feature technical leadership and responsibility as part of a new product release or sustaining activities.
Translation of user requirements, requirements management, top level design, feasibility of potential solutions, decomposition of derived requirements
Technical liaison to engineering
Bachelor of Science in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent degree in a Scientific/Engineering discipline, alternatively 4 years professional industry experience in the relevant technical discipline
3-5 years of experience in an engineering role beyond the educational qualification.
We are looking for
3 or more years design experience in a single discipline (depth) as well as two or more years of multi-disciplinary design experience (breadth).
Computer-literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
Experience with global projects preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills required.
Six-sigma knowledge & Certification preferred.
Evidence of practical knowledge of standards and regulations pertaining to the medical device industry, both domestic and international. This includes but is not limited to organizations such as FDA, IEC, ISO, CFDA, ACR, AAPM, COCIR, MITA and other directives such as RoHS and WEEE. Examples include: FDA 21CFR820.30, IEC 60601-1 and ISO 14971.
Proven excellence in technical leadership in a matrix environment, including demonstrated ability to influence indirect resources
MS in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics or Biomedical Engineering. Knowledge and exposure to multiple engineering disciplines (e.g. mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineering) is advantageous.
Medical diagnostic industry awareness
System modeling simulation
Demonstrable clear oral communication, as well as well-organized documentation skills; excellent command of written and spoken English
Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment
Experience in a Requirements Management tool (eg. Rational RequisitePRO or DOORS) and problem reporting/defect tracking tools such as Rational ClearQuest.
