Kforce Quality Inspector in Hawthorne, California

Kforce has a client seeking a Quality Inspector in Hawthorne, California (CA).Overview:As a quality inspector the ideal candidate will be responsible for being the last line of defense in assuring mission success. The candidate will perform in-process inspections and verify that all key performance and design characteristics are met or exceeded during test preparation and Acceptance Testing. This person will be working hands on with the most cutting edge rocket technology currently available and will be part of history.Responsibilities:

  • Perform receiving, in process, and final inspection on Structures and Propulsion major subassemblies, including mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts, components, and sub-assemblies

  • Inspect, verify, and proactively support Structures and Propulsion development and acceptance testing; assuring adherence to design, specification, and testing requirements

  • Document production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and process as required

  • Assist with the specification, purchase, and maintenance of calibrated measuring and test equipment

  • Communicate and help resolve quality related issues as they relate to the site and other company locations (i.e. Launch Site, Production, and Manufacturing)

  • Process non-conforming product

  • Routinely observe technical operations and offer guidance and/or serve as an additional technical resource

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

  • Minimum of 3 years' practical experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Material Review Board and Root Cause/Corrective Action systems

  • Must be able to read and interpret design drawings and CAD models

  • Strong team building and communication skills, able to effectively communicate with engineering and production groups

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced /cross-functional environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a Technical or Engineering field

  • 3 years of experience working with design data systems, manufacturing enterprise resource systems, electronic databases, or paperless work instructions

  • Certified Orbital Tube Welding

  • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic, be innovative, detail oriented, possess initiative, be positive, and be people oriented

  • A&P License

  • Strong understanding of safety programs and OSHA regulations and requirements

  • Practical experience working within Quality Management Systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)

  • Experience with technical writing

  • Military experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work 1st Shift (5:00 am -3:30 pm), and overtime based on business needs

  • Proficient with Microsoft package (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time and climb ladders/stairs

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, as needed

  • Must be able to walk to various buildings multiple times a day

  • Valid Driver's License required
