Blackstone Consulting Food Sampling Ambassador in Ft. Meade, Maryland
Entice customers to try and buy the product they represent with the goal of increasing overall department sales. Engage with customers on the sales floor and support overall customer service in the Deli/Bakery Department.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform light cooking demonstrations, product samples and product education for Deli/Bakery customers
Set-up sampling station – may include: table, signage, product must be in place, sample product, table cloth, etc.
Track product sales and quantities of product sampled and report back to Senior Marketing Manager.
Work closely with store management team to ensure sample product us received and available for product demonstration.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic food knowledge and ability to sell products based on unique attributes.
Basic food safety and proper food handling knowledge.
Must be comfortable approaching people and offering samples, and be knowledgeable enough about the product to answer questions from potential customers.
Strong customer service and effective verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Local travel required.
Must have reliable transportation.
Daily access to internet/email for scheduling information and assignments.
Creativity and merchandising experience a plus.
Must be able to tolerate various physical requirements including but not limited to long periods of standing and walking, repeated bending, squatting, twisting and stretching, repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs.
Work in varied temperature controlled environments (coolers, freezers, and in hot food production areas).
Must be able to handle and be exposed to meat products, gluten product, dairy products, peanut/tree nut, soy, et al with or without reasonable accommodations.
Requires flexibility to work a varied work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
