The Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) is currently accepting applications under examining authority of 10 U.S.C., Section 2164, for the above position in DDESS Schools.

Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a DoD Field Activity responsible for the oversight of two school systems, the Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) and the Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary & Secondary Schools (DDESS). DoDEA employs more than 15,000 individuals responsible for educating approximately 90,000 students in 12 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. The mission of DoDEA is to provide a quality education from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve for the eligible minor family members of DoD military and civilian personnel on official assignments.

Fort Knox, KY has one permanent, part-time seasonal (school year) position immediately available.

The purpose of this position is to provide a school psychologist to work with school officials, teachers, students and parents to resolve problems of a psychological nature of individuals and students that impact upon the learning process in the Department of Defense Dependents Schools. Provides services of school psychologist to a school or school complex where such services are required because of educative programs for exceptional children and/or unique school and/or community programs for families and students.

Consultant Services: Participates in conferences with school staff members regarding behavioral characteristics and problems of students, families, and psychological factors of the school environment or learning climate. Coordinates with military medical, psychological, and psychiatric personnel for sharing of mutual information regarding problems of the school and community.

Individual Testing: Administers and/or evaluates results of appropriate individual psycho diagnostic measurements (intellectual, social; achievement, and personality), to identify individual students' learning styles. Makes diagnoses and suggests possible educative programs for students.

Inservice Training: Participates with region and school personnel in individual and group activities with school staff personnel to increase understanding and promote awareness of psychological principles related to behavior and learning.

Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Collaboration: Works with other teachers, social workers, and PPS team members in case conferences, parent meetings, and administrative meetings to interpret and share diagnostic material so as to develop joint collaboration.

Consultant: Services as consultant in helping to develop programs for exceptional children and in developing patterns and policies for special education, child advocacy, and students' rights programs.

This position is 20 hours per week or 40 biweekly hours per pay period.

The salary for a full-time seasonal (seasonal meaning school year) School Psychologist ranges between $51,086 - $123,936

depending on education level and years of experience. Since this position is part-time seasonal, the yearly salary will be

approximately half the full-time seasonal amount per year.

If you are selected for this position and are not a current DDESS employee, the documentation you present for purposes of

completing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Form I-9 on your entry-on-duty date will be verified through the

DHS 'E-Verify' system. Federal law requires DDESS to use the E-Verify system to confirm the employment eligibility of all

new hires. Under this system, the new hire is required to resolve any identified discrepancies within eight (8) Federal

government work days as a condition of continued employment.

Condition of Employment: Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer as a condition

of employment, reassignment, or promotion, in accordance with DoD Regulation 7000.14-R.
