ICON Clinical Research Sample Management Supervisor in Farmingdale, New York

If you have experience overseeing and coordinating the daily receipt of clinical samples, ensuring proper storage and data entry as well as managing the preparation of shipments; learn how you can play a key role as Supervisor, Sample Management for ICON Laboratory Services (ILS) which is dedicated exclusively to central laboratory testing and the associate services for clinical trials.

  • About the Sample Management Supervisor role within ICON*:

The Sample Management Supervisor will supervise and assist in the daily process flow of specimens received including unpacking and scanning of packages, oversee the proper labelling of specimens with accessioning barcodes and validation, assign appropriate freezer space depending upon temperature requirements for the specific study and transport specimens to the technicians in the laboratory when necessary. The Supervisor will also assist with the preparation of sample shipments back to the client or an appropriate 3rd party laboratory when required.

The Sample Management Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that defined metrics are captured and reported on a regular basis as requested by Client Services Management and provide weekly updates and metrics to the General Manager ILS Europe.

As a mentor the Supervisor will manage/train junior staff, lead and motivate the team, set clear goals and objectives, develop supporting staff skills, and encourage growth while providing regular performance feedback.

You will possess a High School Diploma along with two years of related experience in a Clinical Laboratory. You will have a strong knowledge of MS Excel along with excellent written/verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and exhibit appropriate time management skills. Must be self-motivated and work well with various internal groups.
