TMMI’s Paint/Plastics Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Specialist – Plastics
The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in preparation of new injection molds. Start up and operation of new molds in the injection molding machines both conventional and Toyota injection molding machine specific. Ensure design intent meets mass production requirements for mold operation and off tool process capability.
Reporting to the Manager of Paint & Plastics, the person in this role will lead maintenance and production team members in Toyota New Global Architecture project activities.
Develop and manage schedules pertaining to new mold changes and trials Work with Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America (TEMA) and make adjustments on TEMA led projects including mold machine changes, welders and endmill machines Coordinate activities and mold changes as they relate to Toyota New Global Architecture initiatives Manage gate activity and report on status as required Lead production team members in machine changes as it relates to new molds Lead production team members on process changes with off tool parts Lead members when working with TEMA and make adjustments on new equipment Lead maintenance and production member in Toyota New Global Architecture project activities Lead members in set up and changes to process activities Lead major equipment modifications required for new model molds Manage scopes projects from 5K to 1Million Ensure projects stay on schedule and report status on regular basis Oversee major process changes that result from Toyota New Global Architecture initiatives Manage design changes in the areas of mold operation and mold structure Ensure design changes don’t impact manufacturing requirements Work with design to meet design requirements while ensure production needs are met Resolve processing issues leading production pilot members in the resolution Troubleshoot process related equipment issues Develop equipment change strategies and timelines for new model shop initiatives Develop milestone management strategies to meet gate targets Develop process change strategies and meet operational plan targets
A successful candidate will have:
Bachelors in Engineering and/or equivalent experience in New Model Launch activity, including collaboration with Mold Design and Mold Integration into manufacturing Experience in Injection Molding Processing and integration of new injection processes and machines into production. Experience in Project management Must be able to travel approx. 20-25% of the time
A successful candidate may have:
A major in Engineering
Experience using a Toshiba injection molding machine
Experience in Injection molding management and operations
Experience in Toyota maintenance or engineering
