Who we’re looking for

Paint Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified New Model Paint - Specialist located in Princeton, IN. (TMMI)

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist with production and equipment preparation activities for Global platform.


Reporting to the Manager of Paint & Plastics, the person in this role will lead members when working with TEMA and Robot project team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and manage schedules pertaining to process changes related to new model activity.

  • Work with TEMA and Robot project team on TEMA led projects including equipment changes

  • Coordinate activities related to Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) with production

  • Manage gate activity and report on status as required

  • Lead Production team members in robot teaching

  • Lead Production team members on process changes

  • Lead members when working with TEMA and Robot project team

  • Lead maintenance and production member in TNGA project activities

  • Lead major equipment modifications required for TNGA including Topcoat Sealer & Under Body Coating (UBC)

  • Manage scopes projects from 5K to 1million

  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and report status on regular basis

  • Oversee major process changes that result from Toyota Reborn/TNGA initiatives

  • Manage design changes in the areas of Sealer & UBC and topcoat

  • Ensure design changes meet TNGA requirements

  • Work with design to meet design requirements while ensure production needs met

  • Resolve processing issues leading production pilot members in the resolution

  • Troubleshoot process related equipment issues

  • Develop equipment change strategies and timelines

  • Develop milestone management strategies to meet gate targets

  • Develop process change strategies and meet Operation Plan targets

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Experience in Automotive Manufacturing in the areas of both

  • Equipment Installation and Processes set up

  • Experience in Project management

  • Experience in Management of budgets

  • Experience in Management of equipment installation

  • Experience in Report out and Progress tracking

  • Experience in Management of Direct and Indirect reports on project activities.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience in paint or sealer robotic application equipment and processes

  • Experience in Paint equipment installation in the areas of sealer or paint

  • Experience in Toyota or Engineering

  • Experience in New Model Introduction
