Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado, part of HealthONE, is seeking a full-time clinical medical physicist for the department of Radiation Oncology. Swedish Medical Center’s Cancer Care Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. The center has also obtained multiple certifications in tumor specific cancer treatment due to the commitment of the physicians and staff to deliver the highest quality cancer care. Additionally, Swedish Radiation Oncology is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The successful candidate will join a patient care team of one physician, one medical physicist, one dosimetrist, three nurses and three radiation therapists. Swedish Radiation Oncology consists of a strong Gamma Knife SRS program with its core centered on Linac based delivery. The successful candidate will be well rounded in the different delivery modalities including HDR, IORT and SRS. Preferred knowledge and skills include: Eclipse and/or Pinnacle treatment planning systems, radiation safety experience and clinical trial experience.
Provides technical leadership in the Radiation Therapy Department. Demonstrates expertise in all aspects of Radiation Therapy (but not limited to), treatment planning, patient dosimety, system commissioning, quality assurance and governmental regulatory issues. Acts as a resource to Physicians, System Director of Radiation Therapy, Dosimetrist, and Therapists on technical matters related to Radiation Oncology.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Board certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or Radiation Oncology Physics by the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
Education: MS or PhD from an accredited graduate program in Medical Physics or closely related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience after graduation as a clinical Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology. At least 1 year experience in 3D radiation therapy treatment planning.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent two-way written and oral communication skills in order to communicate clearly with patients, dosimetrist, radiation therapists, technical personnel in other departments, nursing personnel, physicists, physicians and management.
Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal supervision needed. Individual proceeds on his/her own initiative in compliance with policies, procedures and practices prescribed by immediate supervisor.
