Senior Software Architect / Technical Lead
You will provide overall direction and framework for the software development team, work side-by-side to write code, and help implement and support DevOps and agile/scrum delivery. This position requires strong technical vision and ability to oversee large, complex projects.
• This is a hands on position with a fast growing team of engineers • Translates the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex solutions and integrating architecture • Drives the creation of architecture and high-level design artifacts • Implement and drive code and design reviews with the development team • Responsible for ensuring that your team embraces business and development practices throughout the product lifecycle including planning, execution, launch, and support • Help with transition to scrum from a hybrid waterfall model which would include: ◦ Help drive the implementation of DevOps to include distributed version control, continuous integration, release management, and configuration management ◦ Guiding the team to self-organize for delivery of development efforts ◦ Work with product managers to maintain and groom the product backlog ◦ Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution as a servant leader ◦ Work with or act as a scrum master during sprint delivery
• Participate in daily standups, iteration planning and estimation sessions, status meetings, and collaborating on assigned tasks to deliver on agreed timelines • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement • Assist in the delivery of production support, troubleshooting, and bug-fixes to get an in-depth knowledge of all product lines • Provide technical specification and design documents • Act as the Senior Technical expert to the business teams and the internal/external engineering teams • Documents workflows and results of business analysis and obtains sign-off from internal client on the specifications • Develop innovative solutions that not only meet functionality requirements but meet performance, scalability and reliability requirements while adhering to implementation schedules, development principles and product goals • Identify and advocate designs, methods, or protocols as industry standards, and be influential in successfully establishing new standards • Influence the business strategy for product line by articulating key design or technology issues and building understanding among executive decision makers • Resolve difficult technical issues, remove obstacles for teams and help the projects to move forward on schedule • Conduct research into new tools and technology that is used to make visible improvements in feature areas
• The ideal candidate must have a degree in Computer Science or related field and significant work experience • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience Managing a team of Software Developers onshore and offshore • Experience implementing and supporting DevOps, specifically continuous integration and release management • At least one year experience working in scrum teams alongside or as a scrum master • 10+ years of experience in delivering large scale, complex web-based solutions for demanding clients • 5+ years architecture experience • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master's degree preferred; PhD a plus • Has expert knowledge in software architecture and design, product development, and engineering operations • Leverages expert knowledge to anticipate a wide range of future needs and opportunities and facilitates development of complex solutions • Expert ability to convert technology trends and issues into meaningful, understandable business issues that are actionable • Proficient knowledge in the following technologies: ASP.NET web forms, C#, T-SQL, WCF services, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, Bootstrap, and JSON • Exchange Web Services experience is desired, or the ability to quickly ramp up on development and support as required • Experience with version control (Git is preferred) • Experience with continuous delivery • Experience with SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) • Responsive Design experience • Large scale consumer facing website experience is a huge plus • Experience in an Agile development environment • Experience in iterative development process • Knowledge in software design patterns, object-oriented design, and implementation techniques for highly scalable on premise and SaaS solutions • Highly motivated with the ability to work in small teams or in a silo as needed • Comfortable with transitioning between scheduled development tasks and production support tasks as needed
