Philips System Reliability Architect in Eindhoven, Netherlands

Your challenge

Do you want to be a world class expert in a team of over 20 Quality and Reliability professionals to support all Philips businesses globally with End-to-end (E2E) product Quality and Reliability?

Your responsibilities

  • In alignment with System Architects and project leaders, you will identify Quality and Reliability requirements for complex, innovative healthcare architectures and products

  • You will develop advanced and/or appropriate strategies to analyze, predict and monitor reliability data of complex products as an input to new developments or improvements to existing products

  • You will develop actionable strategies to incorporate quality and reliability in the design of the total product and all sublevels

  • You will take responsibility for the execution of the quality management strategy of the product and support, coach and guide multi-disciplinary project teams of highly skilled technical experts in that process

  • In alignment with business management teams, you will apply, manage or guide the implementation of Design for -Six Sigma, -Reliability, -Testing and Manufacturing (DfX) in R&D, throughout the whole life cycle.

  • DfSS or DMAIC Black Belt/Master Black Belt, or equivalent by experience

  • You will take personal ownership to resolve the most complex quality or reliability challenges in Philips businesses all over the world

  • You will detect and acquire opportunities for support to the Healthtech business to improve quality and reliability for new or existing products and processes

  • You will leverage skills and practices throughout the business via training, coaching and leading by example

  • You will coach and grow senior colleagues towards higher skills and maturity

  • You will cooperate globally with Philips or external R&D centers and innovation excellence programs to grow a network with relevant stakeholders

  • You will actively participate in expert networks as well within Philips as externally in own professional field.

Your team

The Product Quality & Reliability team is part of Reliability Solutions service of Philips Innovation Services and is a dynamic group of more than 20 experts in the field of Reliability and Quality engineering. As part of the Q&R service, they have direct access to a broad range of product reliability test- and material analyze facilities and experts.

All are DfSS Green belt or Black Belt, active in designing in or improving reliability of complex, innovative products and processes for our customers from both internal Philips businesses as well as external companies, located all over the world.

We are looking for

  • MSc /PhD degree in relevant area of expertise; Discipline like Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, etc.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customer oriented product development (preferably global) organizations

  • In depth knowledge of quality and reliability engineering techniques, tools, models, physics, mathematics

  • Domain knowledge and understanding of the relevant application and technology area, or capable to gain this quickly

  • A proven track record in implementing and applying concepts in the fields of designing in quality and reliability and problem solving techniques applied to products and processes

  • Experience and track record in automotive industry and its tools and concepts (PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP) and/or Healthcare industry (GMP, GLP, quality standards) are strongly preferred.

  • You combine analytical and conceptual thinking, physical insight, flexibility and a hands-on mentality to deliver sustainable results and creative solutions.

  • You are able to inspire people, lead and mobilize teams, with training and coaching capabilities.

  • An entrepreneurial attitude; establish improvements and results, acquisition skills, customer minded

  • Communication skills through all stakeholders levels within the business, verbally and in writing

  • You are a motivated self-propelling person, with determination to succeed and the ability to manage change.

  • Fluent in English

  • You are willing to travel a substantial part of the job.
