POSITION SUMMARY The Patient Care Assistant functions under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Performs specific and assigned tasks which are supportive of all patient populations.
Experience: Preferred Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred Special Qualifications: Current State of Georgia certification preferred, or Fairview Park Hospital PCA Orientation for cross-trained employees. Hospital experience preferred. Current CPR certification. Functional Statement Employees Supervised: N/A POSITION REQUIREMENTS 1. Provides adequate daily care and reports information to Team Leader. Provides a safe, confidential environment for the patient. 2. Accepts accountability for completion of assignments, demonstrates reliability & dependability (including compliance with the attendance policy), and utilizes time and material cost-effectively. 3. Meet the personal and practical needs of patients and families as described in "Patients First Service". Use appropriate & effective communication skills. 4. Continue self-development, provide leadership & actively participate in Performance Improvement Activities. 5. Reflects HCA values and its ethical and compliance principles in his/her daily activities (Code of Conduct). PHYSICAL DEMANDS Essential Functions: Ability to Sit 2 - 3 hours, stand or walk 9 hours. Bending, reaching, twisting. Assist with lifting patients and equipment (may be over 100 pounds). Lift and carry up to 35 pounds. Push or pull equipment (may be over 100 lbs). Motor coordination and manual dexterity to include precision, speed work and sensory perception. Talking, hearing, visual acuity. Mental acuity with decision making.
