Baylor Scott & White Health RESEARCH ASSOCIATE I in DALLAS, Texas


Under general supervision of a Baylor Research Institute (BRI) Investigator, the role of a Research Associate I is to generate and/or analyze scientific data and work on research projects that further the research goals of the Investigator. The Research Associate I may be required to supervise or train other research personnel such as Post-Doctoral Fellows or Research Assistants, as needed for the project. He/she may contribute to grant proposal developments and the subsequent Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols that may be necessary for research.

Required Education:

Bachelors in science, math, biostatistics or related field.

Job Functions

I. Generatesand /or analyzes experimental data for research project(s) to support the goalsof the Investigator in whose Lab he/she works.

II. Writes,produces figures or assists with development of scientific publications,grants, protocols (SOPs, IRB, IACUC), and communications.

III. Presentswork as requested by Investigator or others. Attends scientific meetings,workshops, etc., and submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Readsjournal articles and other scientific literature to stay abreast of currentdevelopments in the field, especially as relates to areas of particularinterest for advancing the goals of BRI.

IV. May be required to share expertise, teach techniques andassist or supervise other

personnel as needed.
