HCA, Hospital Corporation of America CEO, Supply Chain- Far West Division in Cottonwood Heights, Utah

Job Summary – This is an Executive level position responsible for the overall strategic direction, as well as the tactical execution, of all aspects of Supply Chain Operations for a multi-hospital system/ division (14 to 20 facilities). This includes all procurement, distribution, customer service, accounts payable, and facility based business and people processes/ transactions. In addition, this position also is responsible for developing, negotiating, and executing a regional contracting plan focused in the areas of contract services and physician preference areas, while maximizing business diversity opportunities. This individual is responsible for managing over $300 million in annualized supply expenses and over $20 million in capital expenditures, through reviewing and optimizing the current GPO contract portfolio, developing comprehensive clinical and utilization protocols, and developing and executing a product standardization plan for the entire system/ division. This person is also responsible for recruiting, directing, managing and evaluating between 175 to 200 FTEs located at the division and hospital level through an operations budget of 7 to 10 million dollars, annually. This individual is responsible for building strategic relationships and ongoing alliances with Hospital Chief Executive Officers and Chief Financial Officers as it relates to successfully executing our Supply Chain Operations Plan.

Duties (included but not limited to):

  • Responsible for the overall leadership of all Supply Chain activities with the Division including but not limited to:

    o Procurement

    o Distribution

    o Accounts Payable

    o Hospital based activities

    o Drives product utilization/standardization protocols

    o Regional and Business Diversity contracting plan

    o GPO portfolio review/optimization

  • Responsible for profit and loss statement of Division Supply Chain operations

  • Coordinate, manage and evaluate Division Supply Chain personnel

  • Coordinate Capital Budget plan with Hospital and Division leadership

  • Develops and improves customer satisfaction with the hospitals and other customers

  • Executes a continuous improvement program for all supply chain functions

  • Responsible for planning, measuring, executing and tracking all supply chain projects.


    College graduate required


    More than 7 years hospital management experience in either an Administrative, Financial, or Supply Chain/Materials Management leadership capacity, with extensive knowledge of healthcare and/or Supply Chain/Materials Management. Multi-facility experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to lead a complex multi-faceted distributed organization.
