City and County of Denver Lead Kid Watch Attendant (On Call) in Colorado
The City and County of Denver's Parks and Recreation Department *is seeking qualified and reliable *Lead Kid Watch Attendants!
Lead Attendants will assist in facilitating the overall operations of the *Kid Watch Child Care Facility *located at Central Park Recreation Center (9651 M.L.K. Jr Blvd, Denver, CO 80238). This child care service is available to all members and guests of Central Park Recreation Center while they utilize the facility.
The *Lead Kid Watch Attendant *provides short-term child care service for children ages 1 - 7 years of age. Lead attendants will help implement a variety of activities which may include; sports, active games, arts and crafts, dance, drama, fitness, music, and various recreational, educational, or cultural enrichment events.
Instructors for these programs will assist in the overall operations of the Kid Watch Child Care Facility. Instructors will also implement a variety of activities which may include; sports, active games, arts and crafts, dance, drama, fitness, music, and various recreational, educational, or cultural enrichment events.
IMPORTANT: The Lead Kid Watch Attendant (On Call) positions are differentiated from Kid Watch Attendants (On Call) in both their qualifications and duties. Selected candidates will work between 10 and 25 hours a week. Schedules may vary; candidates should be available from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM - Monday through Saturday and/or 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM - Monday through Thursday. We are also looking for individuals who can act as substitutes for the programs.
Central Park Recreation Center is a relatively new facility within Denver's network of recreation centers. This state-of-the-art facility provides a wide range of amenities to the citizens of Denver, enriching the community with a variety of enjoyable programs throughout the year.

- Provides a safe and fun environment in which both children and their parents feel comfortable.
- Provides corrective action as needed.
- Spearheads the organization of each day's activities to provide children with a variety of programming.
- Responsible for completing and reporting accidents or injuries occurring in the assigned area; completing required forms for each child placed in and removed from Kid Watch.
- Responsible for the enforcement of all Kid Watch Policies, as well as, general building policies.
- Communicate with the supervisor concerning cleaning supplies and program material needed.
- Develop positive relations with customers; communicate recreation programs information to participants and parents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate
Plus *six (6) semester hours of college course work in a recreation field, information technology, elementary or secondary education, behavior management (psychology, sociology), or a related field. *Experience Requirement:
One (1) year of experience as a child care attendant, teacher, tutor, counselor, or coach in an organized recreation program, preschool, early childhood education or related field assisting on the day-to-day operations.
A combination of the appropriate type and level of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements. Licensure and/or Certification:
By position, requires a valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience in an organized child care program.
- Knowledge and experience in instructing or teaching a variety of activities such as: sports, active games, arts and crafts, dance, drama, fitness, music, and various recreational, educational, or cultural enrichment events.
- Experience in behavior management in children ages 1 - 7 years old
- Bilingual skills
