Chicago Transit Authority Senior Coordinator, Vault Operations in Chicago, Illinois
Final salary to be determined by the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Under direction, provides supervision and coordinates the activities and personnel assigned to process and package cash revenues from the Authority's bus system fare collections. Monitors and assumes responsibility for all administrative and operational functions of the Authority's vault operations.
Supervises and coordinates the Treasury Vault Operations facility and staff.
Monitors all cash collections from bus fares revenue collection vaulting equipment.
Monitors and coordinates the operation of automated counting data systems to ensure that they are functioning properly; takes appropriate action to resolve malfunctions.
Enforces and recommends operational security procedures pertaining to the receipt, processing, and deposit of revenues.
Generates and analyzes reports on counted versus device and system reported revenue to determine anomalies.
Recommends corrective actions to improve the accuracy of revenue systems.
Develops and maintains processing and production reports related to the processing of coin and paper currency.
Develop spreadsheets and maintain records of incoming and outgoing coin and currency revenue.
Ensures deposits handled by third party vendor are timely and accurate.
Performs and documents quarterly random audits to ensure all reported funds are accounted for.
Balances daily receipts and packages revenue for deposit. Prepares required deposit slips and associated reports.
Maintains contracts and relationships with vendors and/or contractors to ensure contract compliance.
Monitors supplies and inventories of material and equipment and ensures timely notification when repair or replacement is needed.
Assists in the development and planning of the Treasury Vault Operations budget.
Assists in the planning of special events and assists department management with operational upgrades and facility related issues.
Assists management in hiring, training, developing, and evaluating performance of staff. Reviews and evaluates employee performance to ensure adherence to established currency processing standards and procedures.
Performs related duties as might be assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in vault operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to this position.
Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing visual acumen, manual dexterity, and fingering for working with computer keyboards.
May be required to lift and carry material up to 50 pounds
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of revenue collections related to security policies and procedures relating to equipment and operations.
Working knowledge of financial report preparation.
Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and reasoning skills required.
Intermediate math skills.
Good organizational skills.
Intermediate Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project) skills.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business environments.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
Ability to prepare clear, concise, and complete reports.
