C4ISR Shipboard Quality Assurance Specialist I - Chesapeake, VAChesapeake, VA, US
Job Description The Quality Assurance Specialist I performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of materials, materials in process, and finished products. This position completes a variety of tasks by following pre-established guidelines. This position is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field; relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
The Quality Assurance Specialist I works under immediate supervision and typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Required Skills --Bachelor's degree may be required. Two years of experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
--This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the maritime industry.
--Candidates must be able to obtain Rapid Gate Access Card/CAC
--Candidate must be able to obtain US Government Secret Clearance and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
----This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens
-- Candidates must be able to physically access all areas on board U.S. Naval Vessels to include tanks, voids, and working aloft in support of production operations.
--Candidate must be able/willing to travel in CONUS/OCONUS.
--Candidate must be willing and available to work 1st and 2nd shift assignments as required for possible extended period of time depending on contract deadlines.
The candidate must also have the following:
--Experience supporting U.S. Navy Systems Commands
--Possess and provide documented C4ISR Installation, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience.
--Must be able to initiate corrective actions and implement solution.
--In depth knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items and QA requirements as delineated in TS 9090-310 is required.
--Direct experience with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems and training as a Lead Auditor.
--Ability to draft Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures, perform root cause analysis, conduct technical research, and respond to external Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
--Ability to document experience and willing to accept increasing levels of responsibility.
-- Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to build rapport with internal and external customers.
--Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) required.
--Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
The ideal candidate must have a strong desire to excel in the Quality Assurance field and ability to rapidly adapt to dynamic scenarios.
--NDT Level II Certification
--Fiber Optic connector Builder Certification
--Multi-pin Connector Builder Certification
--Basic Paint Inspector Certification
--ISO Lead Auditor
--Knowledge of 29 CFR and 40 CFR.
--In depth knowledge of electrical/electronics systems.

Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems.
