Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary DATA INFORMATICS ANALYST in Charlestown, Massachusetts
Description POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary role is to assist in the architecture, development and adoption of data driven platforms in Linux and Windows servers throughout Mass. Eye and Ear.
Assist in the design and development of web front end and content using modern full stack web technology and methods using LAMP solution.
Administer and coordinate graphical user interface design for web portals and mobile devices.
Gather and manage user requirements to enable the development and implementation of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) or internally-built software and hardware solutions.
Assist in the development of software and system prototypes.
Develop SQL queries to load, extract, manipulate, and/or calculate information to fulfill data and reporting requirements on Linux and Windows Servers.
Create and maintain OLAP Cubes, SSRS reports and report templates.
Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field with 8+ years experience.
Strong understanding of healthcare and hospital functional environments, workflows and current technologies.
Facilitate data mapping between environments and application data stores.
Strong technical understanding of data modeling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and derived/analytic data; strong technical expertise in data storage/management technologies for both OLTP, OLAP and DW solutions.
Strong technical understanding of data integration standards, frameworks and best practices; especially as they relate to ETL, EDI including HL7, EAI and SOA.
Unix shell scripting (Perl, Bash) preferred. Ability to write and maintain cron jobs.
Highly competent with relational database design and structured query language (SQL) in a SQL Server Environment, SSAS, SSRS and SSIS, Oracle SQL Developer and MySQL.
Strong technical understanding of VOIP Asterisk Phone System in the development, support and maintenance.
Ability to work collaboratively across the organization: interpret user requirements, identify the root cause, research possible solutions, identify most feasible solutions
Must be able to work creatively, calmly, flexibly and under tight deadlines in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting/multiple demands and opportunities
Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology and or/integrating diverse technology applications.
