Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary DATA INFORMATICS ANALYST in Charlestown, Massachusetts


The primary role is to assist in the architecture, development and adoption of data driven platforms throughout Mass. Eye and Ear.


  • Assist in the design and development of web front end and content using modern full stack web technology and methods.

  • Administer and coordinate user interface design.

  • Gather and manage user requirements to enable the development and implementation of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) or internally-built software and hardware solutions.

  • Assist in the development of software and system prototypes

  • Develop SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and/or calculate information to fulfill data and reporting requirements.

  • Create and maintain SSRS reports and report templates.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare and hospital functional environments, workflows and current technologies.

  • Facilitate data mapping between environments and application data stores.

  • Strong technical understanding of data modeling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and derived/analytic data; strong technical expertise in data storage/management technologies for both OLTP and DW solutions.

  • Strong technical understanding of data integration standards, frameworks and best practices; especially as they relate to ETL, EDI including HL7, EAI and SOA.

  • Unix shell scripting (Perl, Bash) preferred

  • Highly competent with relational database design and structured query language (SQL) in a MySQL, SQL Server Environment, SSRS/SSIS.

  • Highly competent with modern web programming with proven competency in HTML, CSS, Javascript/JQuery and skillsets in at least one other web language (Ruby, Perl, Objective C, Swift, PHP, C#, Python).

  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization: interpret user requirements, identify the root cause, research possible solutions, identify most feasible solutions

  • Must be able to work creatively, calmly, flexibly and under tight deadlines in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting/multiple demands and opportunities

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology and or/integrating diverse technology applications.
