Position: Youth Ministries Director
Department: Corps Ministries
Availability of Position: October 28, 2016
Schedule: Part Time, 15-25 hours/week
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Corps Officers
Salary and Grade: $9.00-$11.00 per hour; 70 Non-Exempt
Expand and administer youth ministries program targeting teens and young adults. Prepare programs of interest to youth. Connect with area churches, colleges and other groups to locate volunteers/interns. Conduct outreach to youth. Support existing youth programs. Work alongside Officers to create and maintain a successful program.
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Minimum two years work experience. Valid Driver’s License. Good communication skills both verbally and in writing. Excellent computer skills including Power Point and Publisher. Experience with social media sites. Outgoing, vivacious personality. Experience working with children/youth. Past church activity verified by Pastor. Musical ability highly desirable. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
