Now, if you were to come on board as ourDirector of Catering, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Be responsible for all financial and operational aspects of the retail food services and catering operations, including the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of all activities within the departments to ensure that all areas are compliant and maintaining standards of quality services as required by any applicable provincial or federal law as per Compass Group Canada standards.

  • Direct all personnel, including Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and Associates within the departments.

  • Manage all operational costs, including food, labor, paper, chemical, direct costs and other expenses incurred within the departments.

  • Oversee, supervise, and delegate responsibilities and duties to others in the departments as needed to maintain operational excellence.

  • Ensure that the departments are compliant and meeting the requirements of all local and federal laws and Company standards, policies, and procedures relating to all Health and Food Safety practices.

  • Manage the day to day performance of the operations and make continued improvements to service and product standards as required.

  • Be responsible for the coordination of inventory and procurement for the catering and retail food services departments, ensuring that all products meet specifications.

  • Oversee the implementation, updates, and maintenance of the catering website.

  • You have at least six years in a senior food service management role and FoodSafe Certification.

  • You have proven excellence in financial management.

  • You have proven excellence in supervising/purchasing/scheduling/administration of day to day operations in a high volume operation (healthcare environment preferred).

  • You have excellent computer skills.

  • You have excellent customer and client relationship skills.

  • You have excellent communication skills (oral and written).

  • You have strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills.

  • You have excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
