The Appraisal Review Analyst is a subject matter expert (SME) with decision making capacity with appraisal review and analysis expertise. Ensures quality control of all appraisal reports, escalations, complex reports, and alignment to all regulatory and GSE guidelines. Conducts pre and post-delivery reviews based upon logical analysis and sound judgment for the primary purpose of determining report quality and compliance with regulatory guidelines. The Reviewer will be responsible for effectively coaching vendors and appraisers regarding commonly accepted appraisal practices, and working to resolve valuation discrepancies in a timely manner to provide the most reliable and well supported value recommendation possible. This position requires multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Review residential appraisals and pertinent loan documents to develop an understanding of the criteria for determining property eligibility for lending purposes. Prepare collateral review reports summarizing collateral status and a calculation of ineligible collateral.

  • Surface issues to management prior to releasing reports.

  • Telephone and/or email vendors to obtain additional information, when required. .

  • Track and follow-up with our customers and business partners to provide status and/or inquire updates on delinquent reports.

  • Responsible for meeting productivity standards.

Required Skills:

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Working knowledge of personal computer with MS Word and MS Excel.

  • Research and analytical skills.

  • Detail oriented individual that has the ability to work on multiple projects with deadlines.

  • Utilize good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in order to deal effectively with customers, bank employees of all levels and our business partners.

  • Ability to assist in coordinating staff efforts to meet deadlines.

  • Understanding of valuation methodology

  • Knowledge of FNC’s CMS platform

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills speaking and writing clearly and persuasively

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Extensive knowledge of all relative appraisal and industry guidelines

Desired background:

Banking or appraisal background required

Mortgage processing or underwriting preferred


Minimum one year of college level accounting or equivalent working experience.
