Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary RESEARCH FELLOW in Boston, Massachusetts

Description The Schepens Eye Research Institute/ Mass Eye and Ear, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Saint-Geniez’s laboratory. The talented individual will join a dynamic team focused on understanding the pathobiology of retinal degenerative diseases. The project focuses on the characterization of a novel signaling pathway in RPE and photoreceptor metabolism, redox state and function. Interested individuals should have a PhD or MD/PhD, a strong publication record in vision research and/or cell metabolism, and excellent written and oral skills. Expertise in RPE cell culture, animal models of retinal degeneration (CNV, RPE dystrophies, retinal degeneration) and visual assessment (ERG, OCT) of rodents is preferred.

Fellows will have to opportunity to participate to the “Postdoctoral Training Program in the Molecular Bases of Eye Disease” (, an NIH funded program designed to foster independence and through educational activities and mentoring. Eligible candidates (citizen or permanent resident of the United States) may also be sponsored to apply for a one year T32-fellowship.
