Description Provides oversight of integrated research administration operations for Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. Partners with and supports the Chiefs and VPs in their overall responsibility for research operations, management and innovation initiatives. In all areas, strategizes and drives process improvements focused on innovative operational models designed to integrate practices, improve services, outcomes, patient throughput and safety and the use of technology in the workplace to streamline operations, facilitate communications, and optimize work processes. .
Requirements Masters degree required; PhD preferred. Ten years’ experience in management and leadership positions in a research setting with increasing levels of responsibility. Extensive knowledge and demonstrated success managing research regulations. Prior fiscal management required including prior budget responsibility. Strong and demonstrated leadership skills, organizational skills, with proven experience in developing partnerships at all levels, prioritizing work and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to take on new tasks efficiently and adapt to different work assignments and personalities. Detail-oriented, with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work closely with faculty and laboratory staff. Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and customer service skills. Ability to hold self and staff accountable, while building rapport with direct and indirect reports. Ability to motivate staff and enhance employee engagement.
