Description Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Ambulatory Operations, and in collaboration with the leadership of the Department of Ophthalmology/Otolaryngology, the incumbent will be responsible for the operations of clinical services in 3 or more services and responsible for 30 or more FTE’s. Executes the functional strategy for multiple areas and participates in hospital wide initiatives. In this role, he/she will manage all aspects of clinical operations across the services, for the Department of Ophthalmology/Otolaryngology as well as assist the Director in overall management of the clinical services for the areas.
Requirements Masters level degree preferred in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. At least 5 years demonstrated experience in high volume healthcare environment preferably in Ambulatory practice arena and proven ability to lead groups through project management in an academic medical setting. Strong analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills are necessary. Good interpersonal management skills and the ability to work independently, without supervision in high volume service areas and with others as a team. Interacts with patients, clinical staff and requires collaboration with physicians and scientists as well as regulatory and compliance Departments within MEEI. Individuals must possess strong quantitative, problem-solving and organizational skills. The incumbent must be well organized with the ability to multi-task and work under deadline pressure is essential. Professional demeanor and ability to work with highly confidential information is required. This position requires substantial ability to organize and follow through on details of concurrent tasks, set appropriate priorities, take initiative and corrective action as needed.
