Job Description

The ECS- Software Engineer will perform data conversions, taking different file formats such as tiff, jpeg, COFF, X937, and compressed text files, proprietary, and even limited encrypted files to a flat format that can be then imported into a new check, cold (report), or document storage system. The engineer is responsible for analyzing the data, designing and/or debugging the conversion tool, QA and auditing of the output. The position will allow the analyzation of files at a byte level. Understanding of compression methods on files and creation of a file. We code mainly in C#,but experience in Java, Python and other methods can be used as well.You will work with a team of engineers in our Springfield and Birmingham offices who perform the same roles as them with each engineer having their own projects.

You must possess the ability to multitask and remain organized in the midst of multiple, ongoing projects and proactively learn and adapt in an exciting, ever-changing environment. Must be flexible as departmental priorities shift internally. Must be able to maintain a calm and pleasant demeanor in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.   • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Must have a minimum of 18 months education or work experience in software development.


  • Knowledge of database structures and queries is preferred.

  • Knowledge of C# development is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Byte level file manipulation is preferred.


  • Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.

  • Performs system analysis and programming activities which may require research.

  • Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery Provides reasonable task and project effort estimates.

  • Creates required technical documentation.

  • Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards.

  • Collaboratively works with ECS team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

  • Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
