Job Description

The Sr. IT Web Developer position is responsible for internal corporate web development including adherence to the SDLC process while encouraging best practices and security compliance. The Sr. IT Web Developer works with internal IT analysts and architectural staff to design, build, test and deploy web solutions to enable customer.

Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to):

Web Development in the .Net Framework

  • Solid understanding of .Net forms based applications

  • Understanding of SharePoint Development tools and technologies

  • Experience C# Development in Forms, MVC, MS WebAPI, LINQ, Entity Framework and related

SQL Server and Database Related Technology

  • Data access layer knowledge including Microsoft T-SQL

  • Basic understanding of RDMS and Table structures and schemas

  • Experience with Normalized data and object data modeling in the context of MS SQL Server

Client Side Development

  • Understanding of standards based HTML5, JavaScript and CSS languages.

  • Practical experience with client side frameworks such as AngularJS or similar

  • Design test plans and oversee software testing and sign off process for web solutions.

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON

  • Practical hands on knowledge of JavaScript helper libraries such as jQuery or similar

Web Application Project Oversight

  • Act as a customer champion during all phases of the enterprise software development lifecycle.

  • Advocate standard operational processes including adherence to the Enterprise Business Application Team’s internal Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Work with Project Managers, fellow Software Developers, Application Engineers and Supporting staff to ensure solution implementation success.

  • Note: In addition to the Essential Functions, also performs similar work-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Core web development skills and specialized knowledge is required to advance objectives, and contribute to key results. This would include strong communication skills, technical acumen, an analytical mindset and the ability to creatively solve problems of both a technical and non-technical nature.

Additionally, core skills include:

  • Experience with the Microsoft .Net Web Development stack

  • Experience with Client Side frameworks, API’s and related web technology.

  • Experience with MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Visio, and MS-Project.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business.

  • Ability to interface with technical staff and understand complex technical systems and architectures.

  • Skilled in being a strong team player, i.e.; flexible, collegial, and enthusiasticQualifications, Education and Experience:

    • BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent
  • Relevant IT Certifications

  • 2-year minimum experience working in a Development role.

  • 4-year minimum working in an Information Technology or related role.

Travel Requirement, Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Travel requirements:

  • Ability to travel locally for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops.

  • Must be able to travel occasional by air as needed to attend training, conferences, and related activities.

  • Occasional overnight travel as required; should not exceed 10-20% of the time

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Office environment where the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
