APG Federal Credit Union Mortgage Assistant II in Bel Air, Maryland



At the direction of the Mortgage Operation Manager, the Mortgage Assistant II will be responsible for reviewing home equity and first mortgage loan files for completeness and accuracy and issuing TILA/RESPA required disclosures within regulation timeframes. Other responsibilities will include: entering correct loan fees in the Loan Origination System and ensuring their accuracy when displayed on the Loan Disclosure (LE) and Good-Faith-Estimate (GFE), tracking incoming loan disclosures and supporting documents and facilitating forward movement of the subject loan files, and acting as a point of contact for members with questions prior to the assignment of a Loan Processor/Credit Analyst. This is a role that requires a high-degree of organization and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the loan pipeline to ensure TILA/RESPA disclosures are generated in a timely manner
  • Review for accuracy the 1003, LE/GFE, and the credit report
  • Confirm fee-accuracy in accordance with the loan program, loan type and geographic area
  • Distribute TILA/RESPA disclosures on new loan applications
  • Understand and strictly adhere to TRID, RESPA, Dodd-Frank and HMDA regulations.
  • Track incoming loan disclosures and documents and facilitate forward movement of the loan files to the Processing Team.
  • Notify applicable parties of incomplete transaction information, corrections needed, and follow-up on same
  • Assist with completion of third party orders
  • Report any loan problems or member complaints to immediate supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

*Qualifications: *

Education:High School diploma required. Associate and/or Bachelor degree preferred.

Experience:Two to four years of business-related experience or one year of mortgage/consumer lending experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experience with various loan types, including Home Equity and Conventional; Solid understanding of TRID, RESPA, and HMDA; Be detail-oriented and highly organized; Excellent interpersonal and communications skills on the phone, in person, and written with the ability to convey information in a clear, focused and concise manner; Ability to multi task in a fast paced fluid environment; Possess a positive attitude and a desire to help people every day; Proficient in all MS Office applications; High level of integrity and confidentiality
