Job Title: Field Technician Mid-Level (Construction)**

Location: Maryland, DC & Northern Virginia

Reports to: Field Foreman and Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

ConCor Networks, Inc. specializes in broad-range data communication supply and installation for commercial clients. ConCor is seeking to hire Mid-Level Field Technicians. Mid-Level Field Technicians will execute their position responsibilities in accordance with company policies, practices, and processes, and applicable laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Included below and other duties as assigned:

  • Ability to work 8 hours per day, night shift, 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
  • This position is subject to background checks, drug screening in accordance with company policies, upstream contractual requirements, and Federal and State law.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and possess personal transportation. Driving to various project site locations in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia is a requirement for this position.
  • Reports to assigned job site as scheduled, on time, or as directed, fit for duty and ready to work.
  • Clearly understands, complies with and enforces Company/Job Safety Requirements (OSHA, VOSH, MOSH, etc.)
  • Ensures availability of personal hand tools, tool belt and safety equipment on the job site as required.
  • Position requires proper personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators when required, and safety harnesses as required, and other PEE as required for the work tasks).
  • Clearly understands, complies with and enforces Company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and identify, abate, mitigate potential hazards.
  • With appropriate training, must be able to sort and deliver materials, tools and equipment to workers as needed.
  • Performs basic tasks in assisting other employees on the job.
  • Completes cable pulling task, connector installations and labeling with direct supervision.
  • Identifies and uses hand tools as required for the job.
  • Reports to assigned job site on time, fit for duty, and ready to work.
  • Maintains and properly stores tools and equipment to ensure clean and neat work areas at all times.
  • Monitors/maintains adequate supplies of stock, tools & equipment inventories.
  • Effectively plans and communicates questions, concerns, and information to supervision concerning work activities, work materials, tools and equipment, and inventory for the aforementioned.
  • Accurately interprets labels, job site maps/directions and written instructions.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESAs assigned may direct and lead field technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must possess High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must be able to read, write, spell and compute basic math.
  • BICSI Installer 1 and Installer 2 (copper and fiber optic) certifications required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience/skills acquired in OSP or Structured Cabling construction with 2 years experience as Field Foreman/Lead Technician.
  • Possess minimum of 10 hours of OSHA Training.
  • Must be trained in or obtain First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Attend & receive certification of completion of seminars or programs to stay educated with the changes and methods of the communications industry and related NEC.
  • Certification in fiber optic splicing, terminating, copper splicing & line work is recommended.
  • Technician BICSI certification is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to speak English language and receive work directives and to ensure job safety. Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and with email usage.
  • Must possess working knowledge of various office equipment, including but not limited to, computers/CRTs, copiers calculators, printers and fax machines.

Must be able to speak, interpret, read and write English. The ability to speak, interpret, read and write Spanish is a plus.
