Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director, CSO, the House Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the intra and inter departmental

functions for the three facilities that comprise St. David's Medical Center.

Knowledge & Skills:

Works autonomously, sets priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. Interfaces directly with public, physicians, staff, patients, administration and ancillary/support department representatives. Must be able to communicate effectively in complex situations involving various individuals. Must have thorough knowledge of all

policies and procedures in order to make difficult decisions within existing policy. Maintains confidentiality of patient's medical records. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St. David's "Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.



Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school of professional nursing or graduate of accredited school with a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.

Preferred: Master's degree in nursing or advanced courses toward master's in clinical area or specialization or in administration.



A minimum of five years clinical practice, three of which have been as charge nurse or similar management role. Three or more years experience as a house supervisor can be substituted for degree requirement.



Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Current certification in BLS that meets American Heart Association

BLS course C or D provider standards. ACLS certification

Preferred: Certification in area of specialty
