The Philips University (PhU) is the single source for learning within Philips. We focus on developing the skills and competencies of our employees globally by providing ongoing learning and development support. Within PhU we are continuously improving: processes, understanding of learners and their needs, innovative learning offerings, forecasting and demand planning of expected deployments, cost control etc.
Currently we are laying out the roadmap to standardize the design, development as well as deployment of Product Knowledge / Portfolio Selling for our global Sales force. To ensure that we further improve the way we manage and deploy this large scale learning program we are looking for a highly skilled learning specialist. As a Learning Specialist for this program you are responsible for the design, development and deployment of learning content and interventions in a global environment. Stakeholder management is critical and we expect you to create state of the art learning solutions that inspire and engage our sales professionals.
Develop business cases for proposed Business Group (BG) learning, including design options to enable cost conscious decision making (e.g. ‘buy or build’ or optimize learning).
Contribute to demand planning and forecasting regarding BG learning needs including budget management, the development of learning content and interventions and their global deployment.
Facilitate decision making regarding “global for local” learning offerings
Assess (regulatory) requirements, learning standards, quality guidelines and business roles and learning journeys to ensure quality and compliance of BG learning offering.
Design BG learning solutions; create an outline for proposed learning solution, set specifications on delivery approach and channels.
Identify target audiences and define appropriate learning objectives.
Team up with subject matter experts to:
Identify topics and collect / validate content.
Guide decision making on the design and delivery of local learning.
Provide best practices, guidelines and perform random quality checks.
Ensure continuous improvement of learning design.
Manage relationships with the content development and deployment team, approved vendors and provide strategic direction and advice on development and deployment.
Participate in BG pilot sessions to test the learning program/ offering.
Track all BG learning and development programs against relevant schedule, budget and learning objectives.
Implement and validate methods, procedures and globally defined standards for all new projects.
Coordinate activities of cross functional team members.
Responsible for timely and accurate application of processes and procedures.
Build strong partnering relationships with key stakeholders, i.e. Learning Specialists, Subject Matter Experts, BG Business Partners, Market Leaders and HR Business partners and Learning Partners.
Balance needs and priorities of multiple, demanding clients working across the matrix.
Demonstrate expertise credentials and take ownership of own professional development.
The Learning Specialist is embedded in the BG and reports to the Philips University M2O Academy Dean.
We are looking for:
Master’s degree, or equivalent, ideally in a related field (such as learning, consulting, business of functional experience).
7+ years relevant experience working in learning processes, learning analysis and design.
Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices and thought leadership in Learning for the sales domain in order to be able to design state of the art learning interventions.
Track record of applying the learning expertise in a practical way with proven business impact.
Experience of owning / leading global learning projects from idea through implementation with evidence of real business impact.
Strong influencing & relationship building skills.
Educational background and experience in learning processes and learning interventions.
Proven track record as business partner for management of teams in the field of learning.
Ideally subject matter expertise regarding BG content topics and domain knowledge.
Experience building financial business cases related to learning journeys to enable management team to take longer term investment decisions regarding BG learning.
Experience in analyzing and designing learning activities in a blended approach for a global diverse audience, both culturally and from a business perspective.
