Philips Business Portfolio Analyst in Andover, Massachusetts

The Business Group PCMS Strategy Specialist focused on Portfolio is a critical advisor and supporter to the Head of Strategic Marketing, Business Managers, Heads of Product Management and Controller roles. The individual will be responsible for the program deployment of portfolio management tooling. They will also regularly interact directly with product managers, heads of product management, controllers and other marketers to both drive and support the deployment, development and management of the portfolio management tool (Planisware). While he/she must be informed about the Business Groups markets, technologies and competitors, he/she is not expected to be the strategist, nor be an advocate for a particular strategic path. In general, this individual will provide insight and analysis of the portfolio strength and performance in order to feed decisions and innovation pillar mix along with project types. They may also analyze portfolios as well as identify, evaluate and recommend marketing opportunities consistent with strategic direction.


  • Become the expert Super User for the new Portfolio Management tool (Planisware)

  • Guides and tracks at a Program level the deployment stages and sign-offs per business of the portfolio management tool/process.

  • Provides input/support to businesses with regards to dashboards, business portfolio scenario development, scoring analysis and driving towards Business Units and Business Groups' portfolio decisions.

  • Reviews the tool usage and ensures adherence and accuracy of data across the businesses.

  • Works closely with the business key roles to analyze portfolio at business and business group level for portfolio views, reports, performance gaps, bottlenecks and reports to business on findings.

  • Provide the Head Strategic Marketing and Business Leaders with regular reporting and variance analysis on Portfolio

  • Ensures consistency across the businesses in structure of programs and projects.

  • Ensure interface to clarity and future financial tool provides accurate push / pull of data for report.

  • Support businesses in preparing data/ reports / templates out of Planisware for key marketing processes – SPOR, BMC, AOP, Roadmaps and Business Decision Portfolio Cycles.

  • Providing support in order to facilitate their allocation resources and resource pools.

  • Works closely with controllers to ensure that business case data is complete, baselined and updated for accuracy of KPI Dashboard reporting.

  • Be the main source for report / output generation of data and analysis of data out of Planisware.

  • Recognize and challenge near term resource reallocation choices, recognizing the long-term consequences of underfunding.

  • Support the HealthTech Deployment and ongoing development of functionality and business requirements in the tool.

  • Work closely with users to guide and aid on both use and application of tool use.

  • As data from portfolio is used and supported in other strategic marketing programs, such as solutions development, roadmaps, and management team decisions.


  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2-4 years' experience will be preferred

  • Strong Project management skills.

  • Requires strong verbal and written skills.

  • Proficient in a broad range of marketing/business tools, or ability to quickly learn

  • Demonstrates outstanding writing and editing skills.

  • Analysis capabilities.

  • Command of: the basic processes of R&D/product development, product launch, market development, and program allocation. The various product/market segments where the Business Group competes, countries the Business Group operates in, as well as the customers the Business Group serves, and the science and technologies in which they employ.
