ARegistered Nurse (RN) in CVSUwho renders individualized comprehensive nursing care in a telemetry monitored environment to meet patients’ physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure; coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships.

TheRegistered Nurse (RN) - oversees and directs the care of the critically ill patients. The CVSU RN is responsible for the care of open-heart surgery patients, patients with multisystem organ failure, patients requiring kidney and pancreas transplants, and other patients meeting admissions criteria. The RN will serve as the primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required) (BSN preferred)


  • Alaska RN License (required)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
  • ACLS (required)


  • One-year experience in acute care (preferred)
