Job Description

Symitar, a Jack Henry & Associates company hasan opening for a SeniorJava Software Engineer with extensive server side development.

Youwill bepart of our technical team responsible for designing and developing innovative technology evolution strategy for our credit union clients.

This position will need to be worked from the San Diego, CA office.


  • 6+ years of demonstratedJava server-side development experience

  • Automated unit testing experience in TestNG or JUnit

  • Experience in agile development environments (i.e. Scrum).

  • Excellent understanding of object oriented design, including design patterns and dependency injection


  • Bachelor’s degree within software engineering or computer science

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Strong team orientation andcommunication skills

  • Strong critical thinking and problem analysis skills

  • Mock testing experience in TestNG or JUnit

  • Experience with web services (SOAP, REST)

  • Experience with concurrency (thread-safe development).


  • Develop unit tests alongside production code in a continuously integrated environment

  • Adhere to and help lead team design and development standards

  • Actively participate in all phases of the software development life-cycle, including research, prototyping, detailed design, development, technical documentation, and defect fixing

  • Collaborate with the wider team on design and code reviews
